Job Title: Consultant Vascular Surgeon
Vacancy Type: Immediate 6-month fixed-term contract, ongoing agency work
Pay Rate: Earn up to £100* per hour
Location: Northampton, East Midlands, England
Join the esteemed Northamptonshire Vascular Service as a full-time Medical and Dental Consultant Vascular Surgeon. We are seeking a dynamic individual to integrate seamlessly into our collaborative team and contribute a diverse range of skills.
Your role will encompass 10 programmed activities (PAs) per week, including 8.5 DCC PAs (with on-call duties) and 1.5 SPA. The job plan is subject to annual review with the Clinical Director. The service operates on a 6-week rolling timetable, involving regular all-day theatre vascular lists, half-day vascular CEPOD lists, and outpatient clinics within the county. Attendance at Vascular MDT, weekly planning meetings, M&M meetings on Fridays, and regular vascular consultant meetings is mandatory.
Essential Criteria
Full registration with the General Medical Council
Relevant specialty degree
Completion of Specialty Training (CST or equivalent) or within 6 months of achieving it in the relevant specialty
Education/Medical Education Qualification (preferably at Masters level)
Desirable Criteria
MD, PhD, or other higher degree
Experience in audit and quality improvement
Experience in teaching junior staff and undergraduate teaching
Experience in curriculum development and delivery
Publications in recognised Medicine/Medical Education Journals or presentations at the national level
Research experience relating to quality improvement
High-level organisational and communication skills
